Legendary bluesman Howlin' Wolf was born Chester Arthur Burnett in Mississippi on November 10, 1910. In 1933 he joined the Mississippi Sheiks and recorded his first single for Decca Records in January 1937. In 1943 he began a long affiliation with Chess Records, where he recorded more than five dozen albums. He died in Cincinnati on July 25, 1976
